The Peg Egan PAC Announces 2014 Summer Season
One of the most lovely outdoor venues in Door County, the Peg Egan Performing Arts Center, recently announced their crowd-pleasing line-up of nationally acclaimed artists for their 2014 Summer Concert Series.
The amphitheatre, located in Eames Cherry View Park in Egg Harbor, has room for 2,000+ visitors. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair. Carry-ins are welcome, and admission is FREE! Yes, free! Watch the sun set over the village while sitting back and enjoying a relaxing evening of music. A Sunday evening tradition, a night out at the Peg Egan is one you will always remember and may just be a highlight of your Door County visit!
The 2014 concert dates are as follows and all shows begin at 7 PM:
Sunday, June 22 – Jonny Lang- Season Headliner! Wow, I have been wanting to see Jonny Lang live since I first heard his multi-platinum debut blues album, Lie to Me, which was released in 1987, when Lang was just 16-years old. And to be able to see him for the first time this summer, in Door County, to kick off the 2014 season at the Peg Egan? Wow! Do not miss this one, I know I won’t!
Sunday, June 29 – The Nylons
The Nylons are an a cappella group founded in 1978. With seven gold recordings and over 3 million in album sales, this four member vocal group is a true international success story. The Nylons are currently celebrating a JUNO Nomination for their latest release, Skin Tight, as Best Jazz Vocal Album.
Sunday, July 6 – Jimmy LaFave Band
Americana – LaFave is nothing if not a red–dirt romantic. Viewing the world from an open road and an open heart with one eye on the girl and the other on the lure of the highway. First it was Woody Guthrie and then Jack Kerouac, now it’s LaFave and his brand of dirty–boots folk–rock.
Sunday, July 13, Peg Egan PAC Folk Festival – In The Round
The best of Folk, Jazz, Blues and Alternative featuring Peter Mulvey, Bill Camplin, Randy Sabien & Prudence Johnson.
Sunday, July 20 – Switchback
Modern Celtic with songs capturing the Irish of today as accurately as the Pouges and singer-songwriters like Christy Moore.
Sunday, July 27 – Flamenco Night
Encore! The Flamenco music and dance of Kimball & Fernandez return for a third straight year. Let the guitars and whirring clacks of the dancers’ feet transport you to Spain. To heighten the ambiance, a limited number of pre-show tapas dinner packages with stage-side seating can be reserved by calling Parador restaurant at (920) 868-2255.
Sunday, August 3- Dailey & Vincent
Grammy nominated for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, and winners the 2011 Dove Award for Best Bluegrass Album with “Singing From The Heart.” They will win your heart with their music and warm delivery which comes through in their performances.
Sunday, August 10 – Birch Creek Jazz Orchestra Plays Under the Stars
Featuring the music of Billie Holiday, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and other big band favorites.
Sunday, August 17 – Taj Weekes and Adowa
Reggae – Wrapping up a fantastic season at the Peg Egan, Taj Weekes and Adowa unite social consciousness with unforgettable reggae groove. Blending in elements of acoustic roots rock and afro-folk simplicity, the band’s vibrant sound defies genre and has garnered critical acclaim and a wide audience across the globe.
Looking forward to seeing you Sunday evenings this summer at the Peg Egan PAC!
