  • Q: What can I use them for?
    A:

    Door County Gift Certificates can be used towards almost any purchases you make in Door County. You can used them towards your lodging, at restaurants, for shopping, attractions , performances, groceries, tours, etc.

  • Q: Where can I redeem them? Do you have a list of participating businesses?
    A:

    All businesses in Door County are encouraged to accept Door County Gift Certificates. All members of the Door County Visitors Bureau will accept them. Non-members are also encouraged to accept them and many do!

    Some chain stores such as McDonalds, Subway, Target do not accept them. But our local WalMart and Econo-Food Supermarket do accept them.

    We do not have a list of participating businesses. If you are uncertain, just ask beforehand.

  • Q: Do they expire?
    A:

    No, Door County Gift Certificates never expire! Older ones issued did have an expiration date on them, but they can still be used. You don’t need to exchange these for the newer ones.

  • Q: What if I do not spend the exact amount of the gift certificate?
    A:

    If your total purchase is less than the amount of the Gift Certificate, you should be given cash back, just as if you were spending cash. But we encourage you to use the denomination ($10, $25, or $50) which is closest to the total amount of your purchases.

  • Q: What if a business does not want to take the Door County Gift Certificate?
    A:

    First, ask to speak with the manager or owner. Many times new employees are not familiar will the Gift Certificates and don’t know if they can accept them. If the manager or owner does not want to accept them, ask them to read the back of the Gift Certificate and ask he/she to call us at the Door County Visitor Bureau, and we will be happy to explain the process to them and encourage them to accept them. If they still do not to want the accept them, it’s OK because another business will be happy to accept them!

  • Q: Can I just bring them in to the Door County Visitor Bureau and exchange them for cash?
    A:

    No, I am sorry you can’t. We want you to use them to enjoy all Door County has to offer.

  • Q: Where can I purchase Door County Gift Certificates?
    A:

    Door County Gift Certificates can be purchased at the Door County Visitors Bureau located at
    1015 Green Bay Rd, in Sturgeon Bay or by calling 800-527-3529. You can also order them online at our store.
