The festival also features guest artists from all over the world. Soloists have included violinists Hilary Hahn and James Ehnes, pianists William Wolfram and Lilya Zilberstein.
Concerts include music from the Baroque, Romantic, Classical and Contemporary - something for everyone. The orchestra performs every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 8:00 p.m. for three weeks. Concerts are recorded each season for rebroadcast on Wisconsin Public Radio. Broadcasts can be heard from anywhere in the United States through the Wisconsin Public Radio web site: www.wpr.org. In addition to the August Symphony Season, the Peninsula Music Festival presents three winter chamber concerts at various venues throughout the county. These intimate concerts feature members of the Festival Orchestra as well as favorite guest artists in the Chamber Music setting.
Throughout the school year, the Peninsula Music Festival also provides string instrument instruction to the youth of Door County beginning with third grade. This effort is the only organized string instrument instruction that has ever been offered to Door County youth.
