Experience the Communities of Door County

Door County is a treasured destination that we refer to again and again as a whole, but what truly makes this place special are the smaller parts of the whole—the various towns, villages, and communities within it. The communities of the county each offer a different perspective and experience of Door County. Northern door or southern door, lakeside or bayside, on an inland lake or on the shores of Lakes Michigan—they combine to make Door County the beautiful destination it is today.

Southern Door

World-class fishing on the bay and biking on the Ahnapee State Trail are just a couple reasons that Southern Door is a treasured destination. The county roads are also open to ATV and UTV traffic, providing even more miles of outdoor exploration. Check out Brussels or Forestville.

Sturgeon Bay

Sturgeon Bay is a hub of activity year round in Door County with the canal offering miles of waterfront access and a stunning backdrop for a busy and historic downtown.

Egg Harbor

Egg Harbor is evolving and adding variety to an already diverse community. Enjoy the waterfront or spend the day at the beach. Take your clubs for a spin at a nearby golf course. Eat, shop, and drink at the many local businesses.

Jacksonport

Jacksonport is a unique and lesser-known community in central Door County. Yet, it's the perfect place to relax, restore, and explore the waters of Lake Michigan, explore favorite hiking areas, or launch your Door County adventure. Be sure to check out Cave Point and Whitefish Dunes State Park!

Ephraim

Idyllic, peaceful, historic. Ephraim is unlike any other place on the peninsula. Situated on one of the most beautiful bays, Eagle Harbor, the sunset and water access are spectacular.

Baileys Harbor

Baileys Harbor is a balanced blend of rich natural environments and local food and drink establishments. Visitors have the best of both worlds, as well as beautiful views of the bays of Lake Michigan.

Fish Creek

Fish Creek can't be experienced in one day. It takes more time to take in all the wonderful restaurants, shops, live performances, and stunning sunsets.

Sister Bay

Sister Bay is a hub of activity all year round, with something to offer from sunrise to sunset and beyond. An expansive public waterfront and beach is at the heart of the village, with vibrant food and nightlife acting as the backbone.

Liberty Grove

Liberty Grove consists of the very tip of the Door County peninsula, and you could say it's the cherry on top. Quaint, quiet and filled with natural beauty around every curve, this community is a true escape. Hike in the parks, explore the water's edge or take the ferry north to Washington Island - there's plenty to explore.

Washington Island

Embrace a slower pace and take in the unique geography on Washington Island. In a modern world, the seclusion of the island is a welcomed chance to unplug. It is only a ferry ride away, yet this island community is far from the hustle and bustle.
