1. Sample wine tastings on the Door County Wine Trail.

Door County wineries offer the perfect way to learn about the evolving wine scene here and get a glimpse inside the cozy atmosphere of these tasting rooms.


2. Go horseback riding at Kurtz Corral.

Take in the area’s rural scenery on horseback on the 500 acres of Kurtz Corral in Jacksonport. Enjoy a cup of cider around the fireplace after your ride, or better yet, keep an eye out for one of their candlelit rides.

4. Go for a romantic dinner for two.

Door County’s restaurant scene has earned increasing raves in recent years, but for a special dinner this winter, you can’t beat the fine dining options at The Whistling Swan or Alexander’s in Fish Creek, The Inn at Cedar Crossing in Sturgeon Bay, Chives in Baileys Harbor, Trixie's in Ephraim, or Waterfront in Sister Bay.

5. Hike at Cave Point.

One of the county’s most popular summer destinations is also awe-inspiring in winter. 

Bundle up and trek to this geological wonder for stunning winter views, and have the park to yourselves in the quiet season.


6. Snowshoe at Ridges Sanctuary.

One of Door County’s most treasured landscapes is particularly beautiful after a snowfall, when its thick woods are coated in white. Rent snowshoes at the Visitor’s Center and disappear into a stunning wilderness. Keep an eye out for Bald Eagles and snowy owls along the way, and make a stop at the Ridges Range Lights.

Winter progressive dinners and evening concerts at one of Wisconsin’s most honored restaurants are a must, but breakfasts are not to be missed. Stop into this cozy, historic B&B and try the famous cherry-stuffed French Toast.

8. Take a horse-drawn sleigh or carriage ride.

Mayberry’s Carriages offer sleigh and carriage rides through picturesque villages or scenic orchards, a great way to soak in the scenery together.

9. Go to Adult Night at Hands On Art Studio

Bring a bottle of wine to enjoy as you create your own art together at this truly unique art studio outside Fish Creek. Adult nights are held every Friday, featuring live music on select evenings.
