When the snow piles up or the winter breeze knocks you back, you want to find a place that warms you up as soon as you step through the door. Whether you're in search of a cocktail or a cup of coffee, culture or shopping, we've got you covered with seven of the coziest corners in Door County for your winter visit.

1. Coyote Roadhouse, Baileys Harbor

Located on the shore of Kangaroo Lake, this rustic roadside tavern and grill will warm you up as soon as you step inside. A popular local watering hole, its tight confines and delicious food will quickly make it a favorite.

2. Door County Coffee and Tea, Carlsville

More than just a place to stock up on coffee, this coffee shop is a great place to gather with friends and wrap your hands around a warm mug of cappuccino or hot chocolate while enjoying delicious bakery items.

3. Inn at Cedar Crossing, Sturgeon Bay

Located at the heart of Third Avenue, the Inn at Cedar Crossing offers intimate dining in a historic Sturgeon Bay building constructed in 1884. Enjoy meals and bakery items made from scratch, or just grab a spot at the beautiful wood bar for happy hour.

4. Door Community Auditorium, Coffeehouse Concert Series

On select Saturdays from Jan. 14 - March 4, the Door Community Auditorium turns its fireside lobby into a coffeehouse for intimate performances from favorite local artists. Warm up and enjoy local musicians beside the fire.

5. Teresa K. Hilander Community Ice Rink, Sister Bay

You don’t have to go inside to get cozy. Lace up your skates and head to Sister Bay’s ice rink for some fun on the ice. Then grab a hot chocolate from the warming house to enjoy around the fire pit for a perfect small-town winter experience.

6. White Gull Inn, Fish Creek

The restaurant at this historic B&B stays open, and busy, all winter long. Take just a couple steps inside and you’ll feel like you should be wearing a winter sweater knit by grandma. If you aren’t, the food, surroundings, and staff will warm you up in short order.

7. On Deck Clothing Company, Fish Creek

Shopping and cozy don’t often go together, but they do at On Deck’s Fish Creek store. Open all winter, the store is warmly laid out within the confines of a historic building that long served as one of two local grocery stores.
